Rehabilitation of a 20km Secondary Roadway ​- St.Lucia:

Client: Government of St.Lucia - WB Funded - Engineering Design.

Challenge: The road’s instability due to landslides and erosion poses a significant challenge. Addressing this issue is crucial for community safety and connectivity

Solution: GDCS Inc. introduced Nature-based Solutions (NbS) and other sustainable design features for landslide remediation and erosion mitigation

Impact: The design resulted in a more resilient roadway that also enhanced the touristic product and socio-economic condition of the community.

Sustainable Resilient Housing Solutions - Eastern Caribbean:

Client: Ongoing In-house Research and Engineering Design.

Challenge: Like many SIDS, the eastern Caribbean needs affordable, climate-resilient housing solutions.

Solution: GDCS Inc. introduced modular, energy-efficient housing designs with rainwater harvesting systems, solar panels and other green features, providing a holistic solution.

Impact: Improved living conditions, reduced energy costs, and minimized environmental footprint.​​

Water Storage and Energy Storage - St.Lucia:

Client: GDCS Inc. is currently engaged in in-house research and conceptual design to address water scarcity and renewable energy generation challenges in St. Lucia.

Challenge: St. Lucia faces water scarcity, especially during dry seasons and this is expected to become more critical with Climate Change.

Solution: GDCS Inc. researched and designed a water storage system with integrated renewable energy generation and storage for more efficient resource utilization.

Impact: Improved water availability, quality, and distribution. The integrated energy storage component contributes to sustainable development by reducing reliance on fossil fuels and mitigating climate impact.

Resilient Coastal Protection - St. Lucia and Barbados:

Client: Ongoing In-house Research and Engineering Design.

Challenge: Coastal communities faced erosion threats due to rising sea levels and storm surges.
-
Solution: GDCS Inc. researched and designed a nature-based coastal protection system using mangroves, rock revetments, and beach replenishment. This will not only stabilise the shoreline but also enhance biodiversity.

Impact: Reduced erosion, protected infrastructure, and improved habitat for marine life.​​​
